The doors of Bosch Projects do Brasil Ltda were opened on 30th January 2008 in Piracicaba, São Paolo state. As a member of the Bosch Holdings group of companies, the business was later renamed Bosch Engenharia in 2011, in line with the group wide Bosch “rebrand”. Bosch Engenharia provides multidisciplinary engineering and project services in Brazil and in the Americas. This year, Bosch Engenharia celebrate a significant 10-year milestone – a milestone of sweet success in providing services to the sugar mill industry and beyond.
With Marcello Freire as founder MD, the beginnings of Bosch Engenharia were built on partnering with a leading equipment supplier to supply, install and commission on a turnkey basis. Upon Marcello’s retirement in 2009, the reins were handed to Fabio Bellam as incoming MD. Today the business has grown in leaps and bounds, having diversified into consulting engineering with some 20 employees on staff. Its project footprint has extended into South America, Central America and North America.
It is remarkable that Bosch Engenharia has sold 10 diffusers during its 10-year history. But its greatest accolade is undoubtedly that of having installed the world’s biggest diffuser, with the largest throughput in the world, currently operational at a factory in Brazil. The diffuser is 15 m wide, with an effective length of 60.4 m, resulting in total extraction area of 905 625 m2, and a capacity to process in excess of 21 000 tons of cane per day (TCD) while achieving a polarization (POL) extraction of sucrose from sugarcane of approximately 96.5%.
The Bosch Engenharia team occupies offices in Piracicaba and Ribeirão Preto, the main sugar growing and equipment producing areas. From these bases, the company exports to Argentina, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Dominican Republic and the United States of America, to name but a few markets. Services have grown to include engineering services, equipment supply, EPC project and plant operations management.
With the support of the Bosch Holdings group of companies, Bosch Engenharia is growing its service offering to a variety of sectors, which now include Ports and Terminals, Water and Irrigation, Industrial and Manufacturing.
