As a global player, the automotive company BMW maintains world class standards and invests in a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
Bosch Ulwazi was commissioned by BMW for overall management of a “Production Machine Operator in the Motor Industry” skills programme for staff. The skills training was offered to 1 109 factory staff and took place at the Rosslyn automotive manufacturing plant near Pretoria at the end of 2016, during the company’s annual maintenance shutdown. The programme has been subject to moderation and is recognised as a qualification accredited by MerSETA (Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education Training Authority).
The five modules of this programme were:
- Operate and monitor production machines
- Work in a team
- Verify compliance to safety, health and environmental requirements in the workplace
- Explain the individuals’ role within business
- Demonstrate and understanding of HIV/AIDS and its impact on the workplace.
A project of this magnitude and complexity could not have been completed without a strong and resourceful team. We are grateful to Mr. Allijan, Head of Training and Development BMW, and his team for their support.
