Bosch Ulwazi plays a key role in Transnet Port Terminals (TPT) Enterprise Development Programme

JRM_4430As part of its Enterprise Development Programme, Transnet Port Terminals tasked Bosch Ulwazi with the development of 20 emerging enterprises in December 2013. The programme’s aim is to grow and maintain sustainable businesses with the final goal being to develop these businesses to become value adding suppliers to TPT.
The programme is aptly named Singakwenza Kwenzeke, ‘We can make it happen’, and is aimed at 100% black womenowned engineering companies. TPT is Bosch Ulwazi’s largest external Client on its Enterprise Development Programme with an investment of R3 million. Business Manager Balan Govender said, “Working with Transnet is the perfect opportunity to grow the Enterprise Development Programme”.
TPT approached Bosch Ulwazi to carry out this task, as it is the only known Enterprise Development facilitator that focuses on the development of engineering organizations and because of TPT’s commitment to development in South Africa. Bosch Ulwazi is also uniquely equipped for this venture as they have the full support of Bosch Holdings’ vast engineering team to help the process along.
The project will run for 12 months with the possibility of extending to 24 months. Bosch Ulwazi’s Enterprise Development Programme now comprises 35 emerging enterprises based in Port Elizabeth, Queenstown, Port St. Johns, Margate, Durban, Empangeni, Richards Bay and Gauteng. The managing directors of operating companies Bosch Projects, Bosch Stemele, Bosch Munitech and Bosch Management Services have also taken a vested interest in the programme and will be assisting with the mentoring. Govender, said, “Having high calibre mentors such as Danai Magugumela and the other managing directors on board, means our candidates will receive the best possible guidance and coaching”.
