Bosch Holdings encourages staff to make a positive, lasting difference to the communities that we live and work in. This year, the bright young minds of Bosch Interact have done just that.
Bosch Interact is an in-house network of young professionals. Each regional office has a Bosch Interact team. These teams are allocated an annual budget of SED (Socio-economic development) funds for a social outreach project in a nearby community.
In 2017 the East London team supported Kusile Comprehensive School in Duncan Village. The technical school’s student complement was 1 178 students in 2017, of whom 591 were females and 587 were males. This township within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality faces a host of social and economic disadvantages.
The school’s head for Physical Science, Dr Xolani Khalo requested a donation of Physical Science kits. The kits were bought by the Bosch team and on 3 December 2017, an official handover visit was made by representatives from Bosch Projects East London, as well as from our head office in Durban.
The school, led by the principal Mr Bongani, invited a guest pastor for the occasion and received the Bosch Project’s team with warm hospitality.
We wish the Kusile learners well, and we look forward to further supporting them and other disadvantaged schools in the area.
