The CESA YPF 3rd Annual Sustainability Imbizo “Sustaining the Future of Engineering”, took place at the Premier Hotel in Kempton Park from 11-12 August 2015. The Imbizo unpacked the critical issues around youth development, economic empowerment, sustainable energy solutions and the scourge of corruption.
For the first time the roles of the incoming CESA President Lynne Pretorius, CESA YPF Chairperson, Jeshika Ramchund and Vice-chairperson Keamogetswe Mmwekwa, are filled by female professionals. This year, CESA management chose to look beyond the association and celebrate those ladies in leadership of consulting engineering firms, “Kuadhimisha Wanawake”. The Local Colour Night of the Imbizo showcased the diversity of the culture and gender diversity within the engineering profession. The achievements and upliftment of women in the construction industry and the consulting engineering profession was celebrated.
One such exceptional woman, is Danai Magugumela, Managing Director of Bosch Stemele, who in addition to being an exceptional professional civil engineer and seasoned executive, prioritises the development of the profession by serving on a number of strategic Councils, Boards and working committees. Danai’s contribution toward the evolution, growth and promotion of the consulting engineering profession is highly valued.
