Bosch Projects / Sizo Engineering and Management JV were awarded a contract in 2010 by the Alfred Nzo District Municipality in the Eastern Cape for the provision of consulting services for the servicing of Mount Ayliff Peri Urban Stands (Water and Sewer)
A phased approach was adopted for this project, which was subdivided into five executable projects. In February 2017, five tenders with the approximate value of R370 600 000 were approved for construction. Four minor projects have now been completed and the team is currently involved with the construction monitoring of the R236 million, 6Ml/day upgrade to the Mount Ayliff water treatment works.
The project entails the design, supply and installation of all mechanical, electrical and instrumentation required for the efficient and effective treatment of 6Ml/day of raw water for the Mt Ayliff WTW by UMSO construction.
Bosch Projects were also responsible for the civil and structural design for the following:
- Raw water intake works, pumping main, pump station and pipe works
- Screening and high lift pump station and rising main
- 1Ml raw water reservoir
- Admin block and filter room
- Staff accommodation
- Roads
- Sludge ponds
- Earthwork for trenches and pipe works
The civil and building works are due to be finalised in February 2021, which is the contractual completion date.
