Our Bosch Projects team was appointed as the engineering team for the iconic Planetarium Dome at the Ocean Sciences Campus, Nelson Mandela Bay University in Gqeberha. Located along University Way, a major artery into the campus, the building is set back to create a formal plaza and gathering space.
The team oversaw all engineering aspects of this project, including civil, structural, electrical, HVAC systems, fire detection, wet services, lifts, access controls, and CCTV.
The Dome is a versatile and impressive facility serving both academic and public needs. It features:

• 150-seat dome capable of projecting 3D images for realistic simulations,
• large exhibition area,
• 100-seat interactive teaching lab with flexible desks,
• 60-seat digital space,
• Boardroom and office space.

Equipped with state-of-the-art 4K digital systems, the dome offers a unique 3D planetarium experience in the Eastern Cape region. We are proud to have contributed to this innovative project that enhances the educational and cultural landscape of Gqeberha.
